Job Description Areas of Responsibility (Key Result Areas) Packaging end to end design and development for different categories such as Ready to cook, Instant foods, Spices, Masalas, Rice powders, Pickles etc Monitor performance of existing packaging in markets, gather feedback, and iterate on improvements. Identification, evaluation & implementation of different cost saving initiatives without compromising on the product quality Coordination with internal stake holders like R&D, regulatory, Marketing, QA, Production and Supply Chain for new Product Launches or modification in any existing products. Coordination with external vendors/agencies/testing labs for developmental work Designing of new packaging concept/technologies & continuous improvement in Packaging Technology for new or existing products. Technical assistance for in-house operations New Supplier development for Existing Packaging Material Supplies (Locally) Working on collaborative projects with cross functional teams Project Documentation Trouble shooting for existing packaging Responsibility and Mandate Completely Packaging development for new products. Support in new SKU development and Promo SKUs and replication of current formats in to other portfolio Formulating and controlling packaging material specifications for all primary, secondary and tertiary packaging. Approval of artworks ( Encept platform ) Follow up with vendors for new packaging development projects & delivery. Generating key line drawings. Packing machine trials Conduct vendor visits to improve quality consistency in the incoming packaging components Continuous benchmarking marking of different packaging formats to understand market trends. Participating in vendor technical audits Coordinate with outside agencies to get prototypes developed as per design requirement Conduct necessary trials and prepare and maintain trial reports (trial requisition, machine trial report, transit trial report, stability study reports Change management form initiation for any change from existing packaging. Monitor and understand competitor innovations in the market place Liaise with packaging institutes for testing Main tasks/Projects Providing new innovative packaging ideas for existing portfolio and NPDs Providing as well as evaluating cost saving initiatives for key core categories Coordinate with vendors & internal stake holders for art work approval process. Lab scale & plant trial for new packaging projects Ideate, develop and implement cost saving initiatives Transit trial evaluation during any modification in Packaging formats. Creation on KLDs, Packaging material code, BOMs in SAP.
