Job Summary : The Food Inspector is responsible for ensuring that food products meet safety and quality standards as per local, national, and international regulations. The role involves conducting inspections at various stages of production, storage, packaging, and distribution to ensure hygiene, labeling accuracy, and compliance with food laws. Key Responsibilities : Inspect raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products for compliance with safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., FSSAI, FDA, HACCP). Conduct on-site audits of production facilities, storage areas, and food handling processes. Monitor food preparation, packaging, and transportation methods to ensure adherence to quality standards. Collect and analyze food samples for laboratory testing. Review and verify food labeling, nutritional information, and expiry dates. Document inspection results, non-conformities, and corrective action plans. Issue warnings, penalties, or reports to management or regulatory authorities for violations. Stay updated with the latest food safety laws, guidelines, and industry trends. Educate food handlers, manufacturers, and vendors on safety protocols and best practices. Coordinate with regulatory agencies during product recalls, investigations, or compliance checks. Key Requirements : Bachelors degree in Food Technology, Microbiology, Agriculture, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Certifications such as FSSAI, HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent are highly desirable. Minimum 2-5 years of experience in food inspection, quality control, or food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance: Monitor raw material, in-process, and finished goods quality as per SOPs and regulatory standards (FSSAI, ISO, HACCP). Implement and ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GHP (Good Hygiene Practices), and food safety policies across operations. Maintain and update quality documentation, including COAs/FSSC records, shelf-life studies, etc. Conduct internal audits and coordinate for external audits (FSSAI, FDA, FSSC, etc.). Quality Control: Conduct physical, chemical, and organoleptic testing of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products (e.g., snacks like namkeen, makhana, ready mixes, Grocery, etc). Monitor packaging integrity, label compliance, and sensory checks for grocery items. Ensure calibration and maintenance of lab equipment. Compliance and Documentation: Maintain records of non-conformities, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and ensure traceability. Support product recalls and customer complaint investigations. Help in documentation for export compliance (FDA, EU norms, etc.) for grocery products. Training and Communication: Train production staff on hygiene, food safety, and quality protocols. Liaise with R&D and production teams for continuous improvement and product development support. Key Skills: Strong knowledge of FSSAI, ISO 22000, HACCP, FSSC and other food regulations. Experience with lab analysis and sensory evaluation. Good documentation and reporting skills.
