Role: Vehicle Strength Durability CAE Evaluation Responsibilities: CAE Modelling - Mesh discretization, Assembly, Constraint Load setting - for automotive sub-systems, primarily components related to Body Chassis Structure Closures. Carry out Strength Durability analysis - Linear Non-Linear cases. Interpretation of results, comprehending failure modes and providing directions for countermeasures for meeting performance criteria. Documentation of results and communication with stakeholders - design, testing - for implementation of failure countermeasures. Interact with Testing teams for analyzing failures, correlation of CAE results with physical testing results and making improvements in CAE model. Support in generation and evaluation of Value Enhancement proposals. Competency Requirements: Technical / Functional: Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials, Machine design, Fatigue. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and related experience of working in Body Structures Closures CAE domain. Basic knowledge of Automotive Body Sheet metal design. Ability to prepare the CAE model in Hypermesh software, prepare input deck and perform analysis in Nastran LS-Dyna software, perform postprocessing in Hyperview LS Pre-Post. Working exposure in Fatigue evaluation - FEMFAT, MSC Fatigue, NCode- and Multibody software (like ADAMS) will be an added advantage. Basic exposure of Optimization softwares - Optistruct, Mode Frontier. Exposure to physical testing and ability to understand test conditions and its representation in CAE. Ability to suggest countermeasures for performance improvement.

Role & responsibilities Creating and reviewing finite element models and analysis decks for running various analyses including strength, thermal, fatigue life, modal, FRF for Trims, BIW or Powertrain components. Results post-processing, interpretation and recommending appropriate design modifications to meet customer targets. Preparation of analysis reports and other documentations as requested by customer. Maintain regular communication with customer and resolve open issues that may arise during the project execution phase. Maintain project metrics including quality, costs and timing. Preferred candidate profile Educational Qualification B.E/B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering with good academic background No. of years of work experience 5 7 years Critical Skill Sets (Technical) Ability to assemble and debug FE models independently. Analyze simulation results and provide appropriate design solutions to meet simulation targets ANSA / Hypermesh Preprocessing experience. Creating Passion: Your Responsibilities Technical calculation of components and assemblies of internal combustion engines. Performing thermal, static and dynamic, linear and nonlinear FEM calculations. Component optimization in terms of weight, stiffness, resistance and fatigue life. Generating FE calculation models using commercial FEM software (ANSYS) Fatigue life assessment of components using commercial software (FEMFAT) Organization and monitoring of externally performed calculations. Determination of experimental validation procedures, assess the obtained results and correlate the simulation models. Results evaluation and preparation of calculation reports. Generation and maintenance of calculation tools (Excel spreadsheets, pre/post processing tools, automation tools, python scripts, etc.) Process definition (work instructions, workflow documents, etc.) Perform 1D torsional vibration analyses. Perform multi-body simulations related to the crank train. Definition of tightening prescriptions. Perform gear calculations using Kisssoft. Contributing Your Strengths: Your Qualifications Mechanical engineer or similar degree (aerospace engineer, applied physics, etc.) Good FEM software knowledge.
