The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services that do not fall under the electric vehicle (EV) category. This role involves identifying and negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen understanding of the Indian market. Role & responsibilities Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies for non-EV goods and services. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities. Ensure procurement activities align with the companies objectives and budgetary constraints. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability. Negotiate contracts and terms of service with suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain. Contract Management: Prepare, review, and manage contracts with suppliers. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Monitor contract performance and address any issues or discrepancies. Cost Management: Analyze and manage procurement costs to ensure value for money. Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality. Track and report on procurement expenditure. Quality Assurance: Ensure that procured goods and services meet quality standards and specifications. Address any quality issues with suppliers promptly and effectively. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels. Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance. Prepare regular reports on procurement metrics and performance. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in all procurement activities. Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks. Preferred candidate profile Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the Indian market. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relationship management. Proficiency in procurement software and tools. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry. Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices
