ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Solutions Engineer is the technical point of contact for a Maritime Global Sales team S/he is a key member of the Solutions Engineering Team, providing guidance and planning in aspects of defining, developing, and improving solutions for customers service requirements using the full suite of SES products and services The incumbent will be responsible for solution design and technical support which impacts the performance of SES, Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas Support the Maritime Business Segment to ensure technical solutions are presented clearly and address commercial considerations; Support technical solution design and prepare technical proposals in support of sales requests with a detailed understanding of the customers service requirements; Provide management of equipment bill of materials in the CRM system in support of sales requests; Generate GEO link budgets and lineups to support activation of Maritime SCPC and platform based services; Perform engineering analysis of RF performance to determine how new and existing services can be optimized; Perform engineering analysis of global GEO platform performance to determine platform optimization opportunities; Support operational events, contingency planning and regulatory considerations; Challenge legacy processes based on assimilated data and present alternate efficient options; Develop and provide training to customers both internal and external on SES services and products; Track and understand new satellite access schemes, earth station antenna design, and wireless network technologies; Maintain organization ethics and morals and always adheres to the SES Codes of Conduct; Other ad-hoc duties or projects, as required by Solutions Engineering Management; COMPETENCIES Excellent interpersonal, presentation and sales proposal skills Good Negotiation & Communication skills to include excellent presentation skills; Proven Customer Relation skills; Market intelligence & technology development awareness; Regional and/or segment knowledge: Specific knowledge related to region/segment; Analysis knowledge: Ability to optimize technical solutions for specialized region/segment, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering / Communications / Computer Science; Minimum 5 years of relevant Solution Engineering experience in Maritime, Energy, Commercial Shipping markets; Theoretical and practical experience with antenna design and optimization; Knowledge of satellite transmission analysis and optimization; Knowledge of satellite access technologies and earth station components; Knowledge of English is essential, Willing to travel internationally and meet directly with clients; Ability to work effectively in a global high energy multicultural team Knowledge of IP networking to include Cloud based solutions "SES and its Affiliated Companies are committed to providing fair and equal employment opportunities to all We are an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, pregnancy, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, genetic information, protected veteran status, disability, or any other basis protected by local, state, or federal law "
