Job description we are Hiring for Plant Head with core experience in Engineering Plaastics and Processing in Chennai in Irrungatukottai Chennai. The candidate must be from a Plastic Injection Molding Component Manufacturing. KRAs Achieve Production Objectives of the Company Achieving Production plan within budgeted norms and adherence to process. Achieve Zero defect - Reduction of rejections (in house / COPQ) Enhance Machine Performance. (Preventive and Breakdown maintenance). Training to personnel for improving Functional / Soft skills. Production MIS Manpower Management (Motivation, engagement and Shop floor discipline). Drive 5 S, Safety, Continuous Improvement and other Process Improvement activities. . Roles & Responsibilities: PRODUCTION 1. Execute the Production plan by ensuring smooth running of all Production Lines and achieving the targeted output on a daily basis. Monitor Production output on hourly basis. 2. Coordinate with Tooling and Machine Maintenance teams to eliminate breakdowns for achieving Production targets. 3. Implement scientific molding and DOE to achieve maximum production output with highest standards of quality. 4. Ensure 100% adherence without deviations to IATF standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). 5. To Ensure all standards of Safety, 3 C, 5 S and Health are implemented to maintain an Accident free plant and improve Product quality and accuracy. 6. To continuously monitor and control raw material consumption, deployment / allocation of manpower, energy consumption is within norms. To ensure Production costs are as per budget. 7. To continuously analyze the current production processes and procedures and implement improvements. QUALITY 1. Achieve target of Zero Quality Defect. a. In House Rejection - Rejection Quantity b. Cost of Poor Quality - Rejection Value 2. Conduct Root cause analysis and take corrective measures. MAN MANAGEMENT 1. Responsible for Shop Floor discipline. 2. Constantly motivate operators and staff and improve engagement levels in coordination with HR. 3. Inculcate a performance driven culture including giving feedback. 4. Improve Employee Productivity levels. 5. Conduct daily meetings TRAINING 1. Identify Training needs for the machine operators, quality inspectors and department staff. 2. Organize / Conduct with the help of External / Internal resource, training on all aspects of their jobs including soft / behavioral skills, Problem solving skills, Technical / Functional skills etc. ENHANCE MACHINE PERFORMANCE 1. Carry out Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance as per schedule. 2. Identify, address and reduce / eliminate machine downtime obstructions. PRODUCTION MIS 1. Plan vs Actual - Daily /weekly/monthly 2. Consumption reports Energy, Manpower, Raw material consumption 2. Capacity Utilization 3. Machine Performance reports 4. Manpower Productivity OTHER COMPANY INITIATIVES 1. To actively participate and contribute to various companywide initiatives and programs such as Suggestion Scheme, SKS, 5 S, Safety, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement activities, cost reduction programs etc. 2. Position Summary: To Manage New product development following sales, overall responsibility of BOM The Head of Research & Development (R&D) will lead the R&D team, driving innovation and overseeing the development of new engineering plastics products. This role requires a deep understanding of polymer science, material engineering, and industry trends to ensure the company remains at the forefront of technological advancements. The R&D Head will work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, marketing, and sales, to align research objectives with business goals. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the R&D strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Identify and prioritize research projects that will drive innovation and competitive advantage. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the R&D team. Research & Development: Lead the development of new engineering plastics products from concept through commercialization. Oversee experimental design, material selection, and process optimization to ensure product quality and performance. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to guide research initiatives. Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing R&D team. Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members. Evaluate team performance and implement strategies to maximize productivity and innovation. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with manufacturing, quality control, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of new products into production. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to understand market needs and customer feedback. Present research findings and project updates to senior management and stakeholders. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and management of R&D projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Implement project management best practices and tools to enhance efficiency and accountability. Innovation & Problem Solving: Drive the development of innovative solutions to complex material and engineering challenges. Utilize advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Promote the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance R&D capabilities. Qualifications: Education: Ph.D. or Masters degree in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 18 years of experience in R&D within the engineering plastics or polymer industry. Proven track record of successful product development and commercialization. Experience in managing and leading R&D teams. Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of polymer science, material properties, and engineering plastics. Proficiency in experimental design, material characterization, and analytical techniques. Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and quality control processes. Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
