Engineer/ Asst Manager - NPD (Investment Casting)

Please note only candidates with Qualification in B.Tech (Metallurgy) or M.Tech (Metallurgy) will be considered with Investment casting experience.

Investment Casting Development Engineer

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading

  development activities

  for new castings with

  optimized methoding and high-quality standards

  .

• Planning and executing development timelines

  , ensuring projects progress from concept to launch and initial production ramp-up while meeting deadlines.
• Reviewing

  engineering drawings/CAD models

  received during the enquiry stage to ensure compatibility with

  shop layouts

  .
• Estimating the cost of

  casting, machining, assembly, and additional requirements

  such as

  surface treatment

  at the RFQ stage.
• Assessing

  NRC costs

  , including

  tools, molds, fixtures, gauges, and machine cutting tools

  , during the RFQ process.

This role requires a strategic and detail-oriented approach to ensure seamless product development and cost-effective solutions.

General background

Educational qualifications for the job:

a) B.Tech (Metallurgy) with 5 Years for experience or M.Tech (Metallurgy) with 3+Years of experiences.

b) Minimum 4 Years in Investment Castings.

Areas of experience sought:

• Responsible for developing new products as per customer input like 2D drawings, CAD model, Purchase Order etc.
• NPD as per Aerospace standards within committed time.
• Read, understand all customer requirements & Aerospace standard requirements, and develop new products to meet these requirements.
• Should interact with customer during new product development to understand the requirement & induce these requirements in process.
• Work on a cross-functional project team through all phases of the product development process.
• Responsible for development timeline planning & executing projects from concept through the launch and initial production ramp-up meeting the deadline.
• Responsible for toolings development from estimation, costing, negotiation with tool maker, manufacturing, trials of tools & validation within the time.
• Partnering with Operations to understand manufacturing capabilities and equipment capacity and ensuring that new products are designed for manufacturing.
• Responsible for APQP, PPAP as per customer & AS norms.
• Responsible for conducting process capability studies of various stages at different intervals & take actions to enhance the capabilities.
• Conducting MSA of various equipments.
• Preparing and maintaining all the required documents for casting manufacturing & machining.
• Responsible for testing of components as per specifications using different type of measuring equipments including CMM.
• Will be working with the process engineering team to design manufacturing process and validate manufacturing processes, giving the feedback. Amend all the documents as per derived process.
• Analysing, compiling and documenting, summarizing results and communicating test results to the engineering team.
• Responsible for capturing the process cost of each stage, tabulate, compare with estimated cost & give feedback.
• Responsible for getting customer approvals for components developed.
• Responsible for successful 1st batch (pilot batch) production.
• Responsible for continuous improvement of process from time to time. Amending the documents to keep these updated.
• Identifying new opportunities for technology in the marketplace and use them.
• Assist in training production level employees on key manufacturing and testing processes.
