Software Licensing consulatnt Principal/ Engagement Manager Location: This is a hybrid opportunity in Delhi-NCR-Noida, Gurgaon, Bangalore,Hyderabad Pune area. About the role As an Engagement Manager , you will lead the delivery and relationship management for one of our most strategic, large multinational clients within our Software Asset Management (SAM) managed service offering. We will count on you to be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the SAM managed service, driving strategic initiatives, managing operations, and building a strong, trusted partnership. Along the way, you will get to: Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for key stakeholders within a large, multinational client organization. Lead and oversee the successful delivery and evolution of the managed SAM service for the assigned client account. Manage day-to-day SAM operations, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and operational excellence is maintained. Drive and manage the portfolio of SAM initiatives and strategic projects for the client, including process transformation, compliance management, and optimization opportunities. What were looking for Proven experience managing large, complex enterprise clients, ideally multinational organizations, with a focus on relationship management and service delivery. Demonstrated experience managing Software Asset Management (SAM) operations for significant accounts. Strong experience in managing SAM initiatives and strategic projects, including process improvement, compliance programs, and optimization efforts. Hands-on, practical experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro, including data management, configuration understanding, and leveraging its core functionalities.

In-depth knowledge of the SAM market, SAM operations, and competencies, with the ability to advise on software licensing topics and produce Effective Licensing Positions (ELPs) for software publishers with focus on Microsoft Minimum 7+ years of experience in Software Asset Management or License Management in a global organization, CSAM or similar certification is a plus Experienced in managing Microsoft software licenses, including conducting ELP reviews and performing self-audits, remote audits, and on-site audits Proficiency to perform system measurements to determine the number of Client Access Licenses (CALs), Processor/Cores, and other metrics required for Microsoft software. In-depth knowledge of licensing models, encompassing both on-premises and cloud solutions Good knowledge of ServiceNow SAMPro will be an added advantage General understanding of IT software systems, Client and Server virtualization technologies, Cloud / SaaS / PaaS solution, infrastructure, and software procurement processes

Responsibilities: Software licensing and SAM IT networks, applications and infrastructure Project Management Execution and delivery of client engagements Manage client facing delivery teams, leading and coaching more junior members Foster and developing strong networks (local, area, global) with key service line champions in the firm Review and apply licensing metrics to complex IT environments Client-oriented, professional services mindset Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and take initiative/make decisions under pressure Understanding of IT Process, IT Infrastructure (applications, databases and operating system) and related technologies ie Oracle, Windows, Linux etc Ability to identify engagement issues/risks and the confidence to pursue solutions with ley internal or external stakeholders Works we'll in a diverse team and enjoys a dynamic environment where remote working is required Highly competent at interpreting data, analyzing problems and formulating solutions to present to management level and above. Knowledge of Active Directory, virtualization technologies, network topologies, software vendor license agreements and licensing terms Interaction with software publisher, internal business team for software license compliance & terms Open Source Management: Oversee the inventory and tracking of open-source software, including understanding and applying open-source licenses and compliance requirements. Minimum Qualifications Should be a Graduate/Post Graduate from a recognized University Understands and masters the software licensing for at least three big publishers like Microsoft, Oracle, VMWare, SAP etc Robust SAM experience Ability to handle Software Audits independently SAM Tool Knowledge (Service Now preferable), ELP Creation/ License Compliance Position, Contract Management Preferred qualifications (Desired Experience): Microsoft Certified Professional Big 4 experience and training 5 to 7 years of SAM or Post graduate degree or higher 4 to 5 years experience in IT or project management/service delivery, operational/software asset management or consulting
