Job Title: Electrical Engineer Optical Fiber Cable Plant Location: [Insert Location] Department: Engineering / Maintenance Reports To: Plant Head / Maintenance Manager Experience Required: 3–7 years in a cable manufacturing or similar industrial environment Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to manage and maintain the electrical systems at our Optical Fiber Cable manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-speed cable production environments, with a focus on electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and compliance with safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the electrical maintenance of OFC production machinery including coloring, buffering, stranding, sheathing, and testing equipment Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, breakdowns, and equipment malfunctions with minimal downtime Ensure uninterrupted power supply and maintain power distribution systems (HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS) Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability Manage installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment and machinery Maintain documentation of electrical systems, drawings, and maintenance logs Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations Coordinate with mechanical, instrumentation, and automation teams for integrated plant operations Identify opportunities for energy conservation and implement efficiency improvements Work with vendors for electrical spares, AMC contracts, and service support Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering 3–7 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing setup, preferably in cable or wire production Good understanding of PLC systems, drives, motors, and control panels Familiarity with national and international electrical safety standards Experience in handling HT/LT systems and substation equipment Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills Ability to work in shifts and in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Siemens/ABB drives and control systems Knowledge of SCADA or plant automation systems Certified Electrical Supervisor License (preferred) Why Join Us: Work in a state-of-the-art OFC manufacturing facility
