. Edge Application Development Design and develop applications that run on edge devices (e.g., Raspberry Pi, industrial gateways, smart cameras). Optimize software to run on resource-constrained environments (limited CPU, memory, or power). 2. Integration with IoT Devices Interface with sensors, actuators, and other IoT hardware. Handle real-time data collection, preprocessing, and transmission. 3. Data Processing at the Edge Implement local data filtering, analytics, or AI inference to reduce latency and bandwidth usage. Use lightweight ML models or frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, ONNX, OpenVINO). Handle offline mode and intermittent connectivity. 4. Connectivity and Communication Develop protocols for reliable communication between edge devices and the cloud or other systems (MQTT, CoAP, REST, etc.). 5. Security and Privacy Secure data at rest and in transit using encryption. Implement device authentication, secure boot, and software update mechanisms. 6. Deployment and Maintenance Automate deployment of updates to remote devices (using tools like Kubernetes at the edge, containerization, etc.).
