You will be responsible for conducting Functional type testing of AC protection functions for HVDC stations according to IEC standards. This will involve using secondary injection kits and real-time simulation environments to ensure certification is obtained from authorized external laboratories. In this role, you will support global R&D projects by implementing and verifying the latest technology developments using Hardware in loop environment for ongoing studies. You will also play a key role in resolving protection function-related issues, conducting pre-studies for proposed control and protection ideas, and suggesting improvements to enhance business operations in this area. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a Master's in Power Systems, along with 2 to 8 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of testing and commissioning of substation control and protection systems, understanding different control and protection schematics of HV/LV electrical substations, and familiarity with communication protocols like IEC61850 and MODBUS are essential. Experience with secondary test kits such as Omicron, Doble, and simulation software like PSCAD, MATLAB, or other electric power system simulators will be advantageous. Any exposure to power system design and engineering, as well as HVDC control and protection systems, will be considered a plus. Moreover, proficiency in protection test case automation using scripts will be beneficial in this role.
