The role involves testing electric vehicle components such as batteries and motors as part of a team effort to ensure the durability and safety of the technology. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing tests for electric vehicle powertrain technologies, creating test plans according to certification standards, and collaborating with design engineers to validate and refine models and algorithms. You will also be analyzing test data, investigating the root cause of failures, and assisting in driving product improvement. Additionally, you will work on system and vehicle level certification of different systems and vehicle level certification, as well as perform tests on high voltage battery packs and electric motors. To qualify for this role, you should hold a BS/MS/BTech/MTech degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 4-8 years of experience in physical testing and analysis of mechanical, thermal, or electrical systems for 4W EVs. It is preferred that you have experience in vehicle level testing, making test plans based on industry standards, and knowledge of certification testing. Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or other data acquisition and analysis software is required. Experience in Automotive OEMs working on the development and manufacturing of Electric 4W Vehicles is a must, along with experience in developing and executing design validation plans and test methods. As a High-Current Terminal and Cavity Design Engineer, you will be a key member of our expanding in-house Engineering team. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development of new terminal and connector products for the automotive industry. You will guide these products through all stages of the product development lifecycle, ensuring a smooth transition from concept to production. In addition to this, you will also work on modifications and extensions of existing products, as well as contribute to research and development initiatives within the High-Current automotive sector. Your role will involve leading automotive High-Current terminal and cavity concept development activities with minimal guidance, collaborating with design engineers to create 3D models and drawings adhering to Molex standards and GD&T methodology. You will be responsible for planning and leading DFMEAs, FEAs, tolerance analysis, and other theoretical studies, developing mitigation plans for areas of risk. Managing material selection and justification, focusing on resins for plastic injection molding and metals for stamping components will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will develop High-Current Terminal/cavity test plans (DVP&Rs), evaluate results using statistical methods, and lead failure analysis using structured problem-solving methods. Furthermore, you will act as the engineering liaison to cross-functional teams and customers, ensuring that design objectives are met and identifying/directing R&D opportunities in High-Current connectors. Your qualifications should include a proven ability to manage project scopes, requirements, and engineering work plans. Proficiency in German and/or French would be an added advantage.
