Position Summary: The Dean of the School of Architecture and Design will provide visionary academic, administrative, and strategic leadership to shape the future of architecture and design education. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished academic or professional with a strong track record of teaching, research, practice, and leadership in the fields of architecture, urban design, or related design disciplines. Key Responsibilities: Lead the academic and strategic direction of the School of Architecture and Design. Oversee curriculum development, accreditation, and continuous improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Attract and retain distinguished faculty, and support faculty development and research initiatives. Promote industry collaboration, community engagement, and international partnerships. Ensure fiscal responsibility and effective resource management. Represent the school in academic councils, university leadership meetings, and external forums. Uphold the highest standards of design education, sustainability, and social responsibility. Guide student success initiatives and enhance the schools profile nationally and internationally. Qualifications: PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or a closely related field. (A professional Master's degree with exceptional professional experience may be considered.) Minimum of 10–15 years of combined experience in academia and/or professional practice. Proven leadership experience in an academic or comparable institutional setting. Strong record of research, publications, creative work, or professional achievements. Familiarity with national and international accreditation standards (e.g., NAAB, COA, RIBA). Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability in design education. Preferred Skills and Attributes: Strategic thinking and visionary leadership. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills. Ability to inspire innovation in pedagogy, practice, and research. Strong industry network and engagement in global architectural or design forums. Experience in fundraising, grant acquisition, or development initiatives.
