Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced DB2 Systems Programmer to manage and optimize our DB2 database environment on IBM mainframes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of DB2 subsystems. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain DB2 for z/OS databases. Perform performance tuning and optimization of DB2 subsystems. Manage database security, access control, and encryption. Conduct backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Troubleshoot and resolve DB2-related system issues. Collaborate with application developers to optimize database performance. Implement patches, upgrades, and fixes for DB2 environments. Monitor system health and resource utilization. Ensure compliance with industry standards and security policies. Document procedures, configurations, and best practices. Required Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in DB2 systems programming. Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS, and DB2 utilities. Experience with queries and performance tuning and optimization. Familiarity with JCL, REXX, and CLIST scripting. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and documentation abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in DB2 admin or IBM related. Experience with DB2 data sharing and high-availability environments. Knowledge of ITIL processes and incident response procedures.
