As a T-SQL Database Developer with over 10 years of experience in a Global US-based Bank, you will be responsible for supporting high-performance transactional data systems in a regulated, mission-critical environment. Your expertise in T-SQL programming, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and query optimization will be crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of multi-million row queries. Your deep understanding of schema design, normalization, transactions, locking mechanisms, and SQL Server tooling will play a key role in maintaining data integrity and performance. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Advanced T-SQL Programming: Utilizing joins, CTEs, window functions, and dynamic SQL to develop efficient and effective code. - Query Optimization & Execution Plans: Hands-on tuning of queries using indexing and execution plans to improve performance. - Schema Design & Normalization: Implementing best practices for schema design, normalization, key definitions, and indexing strategies. - Transactions, Locking & Concurrency: Managing isolation levels, nested transactions, deadlock handling, and concurrency control. - SQL Server Tooling: Leveraging SSMS, DMVs, Query Store, and Activity Monitor for diagnostics and performance analysis. - Code Quality & Peer Collaboration: Participating in code reviews, adhering to SQL coding standards, and collaborating with peers on development projects. Good-to-have skills that would be beneficial for this role include experience with Azure SQL/Synapse, CI/CD for SQL using Git and Azure DevOps, SQL unit testing using tSQLt framework, monitoring tools like Redgate or SentryOne, basic knowledge of SSIS/SSRS/SSAS, and familiarity with security and compliance standards such as SOX/GDPR, encryption, and access control.
