Job Description

Role & responsibilities The Credit Operations Manager will oversee the credit underwriting and disbursement processes, ensuring smooth operations while maintaining credit quality. This role requires a strong understanding of credit risk, operational efficiency, and team leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with other departments to optimize credit processes, ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations, and enhance the customer experience. Credit Process Management: Oversee end-to-end credit operations, including application processing, underwriting, disbursement. Develop and optimize credit approval processes to ensure fast, accurate, and compliant decision-making. Monitor and manage the performance of the credit portfolio, identifying trends and areas for improvement. Risk Management: Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Implement and monitor risk mitigation strategies for loan disbursements and collections. Continuously assess and improve credit risk management frameworks. Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a team of credit analysts and operations staff. Set performance goals and KPIs, providing regular feedback and support to the team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare regular reports on credit operations performance, loan disbursement metrics, and risk management. Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improving credit performance. Provide insights to senior management for strategic decision-making. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency, reduce processing times, and enhance customer satisfaction. Collaborate with Product and Sales teams to streamline credit operations through automation and technology solutions. Stakeholder Management: Work closely with sales, finance, and risk teams to align credit operations with broader business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners such as lenders, insurers, and regulators. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification is a plus. Experience (5+ years) in credit operations, underwriting, or a similar role in the financial services industry. Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, loan products, and financial regulations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
