Your new role will be both challenging and future-oriented, with key responsibilities including: - Preparation of Power Plant TG Hall Layout, Piping Layout, Civil and Structure design inputs, Isometrics, and support drawings with a time-bound and cost optimization approach. - Ability to calculate pipe size, thickness, material selection, and pressure drop. - Understanding of various types of pumps, heat exchangers, instrument hook up, pipe fittings, valves, and specialty items. - Interpretation of stress analysis reports for the selection and design of critical pipe supports. - Support for Bid phase projects for basic Piping & Layout engineering work, including identifying and clarifying contract ambiguity, preparing CRS, MOMs, and collecting vendor offers for costing. - Reviewing external documents such as Civil and Structure arrangements, customer piping layouts, cable trays & ducts to check interfaces. - Working on 3D modeling software CADISON/PDMS/E3D for piping engineering activities and familiarity with various CAD formats. - Exposure to Piping Engineering codes and standards such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, ANSI, IBR, EJMA, and associated codes for Power Plant piping engineering. - Coordination with Customers, PM, Proposals, QM, Factory, Site team, and third-party vendors during execution. - Contribution to Cost-out, Lean process, Process Automation, and enthusiasm for Digitalization. - Soft Skills like Self-motivation, Self-Initiative, Team player, Influential, and Leadership behavior are expected. Qualifications required for this role include a B.E. (Mechanical) with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of working experience in the Piping Design & Engineering field, as well as hands-on experience with drawing preparation in AutoCAD (2D environment) and 3D modeling in PDMS/E3D software. As a Senior Mechanical Lead in Product Development, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with over 15 years of experience in the field. Your expertise should lie in areas such as Modularity, Standardization, Configuration Management, and Cost optimization projects. You must have a strong background in designing Plastic and Sheet Metal parts and possess advanced skills in mechanism design, manufacturing drawings, tolerance stack-up, and calculations. Your responsibilities will include conceptualizing and developing mechanical designs for both new products and existing mechanical components, adhering to Mechanical Engineering principles. You will be required to generate and review engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with GD&T principles, conducting tolerance stack-up analysis, and selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes. Additionally, you will need to create test plans, perform testing, and verify the designs. Your role will involve active participation in all stages of product development, encompassing documentation, design, prototyping, testing, supplier interactions, manufacturing implementation, and post-launch service support. JOB DESCRIPTION: Mechanical Engineer focused on cost out project execution on existing products through teardown, idea generation (Redesign, material change, modularization, standardization etc..) and implementation. Perform VAVE study and identify cost out opportunities which are quality neutral. Perform cost benefit analysis and finalize annualized savings for given project. Execute cost out opportunity mining exercises within Mechanical domain by spend - pareto analysis, should cost, competitor benchmarking, tear down etc. Smoothly interfaces to sourcing, operations, quality, service and global R&D team, as well as external suppliers, vendors and customers. Works as technical expert in mechanical engineering domain, responsible for technical solutions and engineering specifications. Leads standardizations of mechanical design process, optimizes and popularizes design best practice. Leads project planning/execution in system architecture strategy, engineering proposal as well as mechanical design, development, qualification, validation to ensure system level functionality, performance, safety, and quality in line with the company product development process Ensures that assigned projects are delivered on-time, to specification, and at or below target cost by solid engineering plans, including quality, cost, schedule, and risk assessment. Reports on project progress. Approaches problems in a rational manner and with best in class tools to ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution. Helps team to grow technical depth and knowledge sharing across product lines. Work with Regulatory Affairs team members to acquire the required product approvals such as, U.L., FDA, C.S.A. and European product certifications. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Demonstrated expertise to apply DFx (manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, safety, cost) knowledge to mechanical designs, expert knowledge in more than two of these specific areas: sheet metal, machining, plastic and die casting. Good understanding of the related materials, processes and local supplier capability. Deep knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and experienced with tolerance analysis. Hands on in using 3D CAD software tools to perform mechanical design, modeling, and detailing Demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solution to complex problems using best in class tools, with deep understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Design of Experiment (DOE) and FMEA. Knowledge of design with electro-mechanical parts Strong knowledge of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system Must have good communication skills to work globally and across functions Evident enthusiasm, adaptability, initiative, creativity, ownership and problem-solving skills
