Role & Responsibilities: Your Role As a Cost Engineer, you will support the pricing consulting and maintenance of our pricing system, using the Computer Aided Pricing (CAP) database which keeps region specific records. You will be responsible for reviewing cost levels of existing CAP records and propose cost for new records, if necessary, by operating our FACTON EPC Cost Management Software. Your tasks and responsibilities You will work as a Cost Engineer I, which offers you different tasks in the field of Support to SCC EU sourcing and - coordination departments, and reporting. Your main focus will be on: Support Relocation activities Support/make business cases to assess cost impact of relocation Keep track of estimated product cost in relocation projects Set targets for sourcing and suppliers; contribute to the realization of targets Support SC&V (= Strategic Costing & Verification) department Define and maintain cost drivers to be used in CAP Calculate and motivate updates of CAP unit prices based on cost drivers, by operating our FACTON EPC Cost Management Software Monitor CAP versus actual costs and take corrective actions if necessary Reporting Analyzing equipment or category cost across projects Setting up reference projects for benchmarking purpose Report cost trends for raw materials, equipment, categories or reference projects Your department Supply Chain Cost Engineering is part of Strategic Sourcing. The latter is a department within the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization and is a strategic part of the worldwide delivery of products and services to our projects. The major objective of Cost and Value Engineering is the generation of high customer value at competitive target costs in product, project and solution business. Generating transparency in the respective cost and value drivers along the entire value chain by applying state of the art Cost and Value Engineering (CVE) methodology. oriented: Drive the integration of state-of-the art Cost and Value Engineering in the business processes Fosters cross-functional mindset change towards cost and value awareness Establish transparency in cost and value of products, systems and solutions and contribute improvement proposals to support PLM in Target Costing, R&D/Engineering in Design to Value, SCM in Supply Chain Productivity Improvement, Procurement in negotiations along the PLM / PM process Contribute to the competitiveness and profitability of products and solutions through the application of Cost and Value Engineering levers and methods Support the setting of competitive and at the same time achievable targets based on the assessment of customer requirements, competitors products, and solutions and on a clear judgment on our own and our suppliers capabilities Support definition and optimization of product architecture and component specifications to ensure an adequate product and solution design Support building the appropriate supply chain by making the right supplier selections, offshoring or onshoring decisions, respectively, and applying make or buy appropriately Support achieving optimal commercial conditions by feeding our negotiations with precise information on our suppliers actual and expected costs Foster a CVE network and company-wide knowledge exchange and contribute expertise to the network. Strong in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office software Flexibility to travel to external suppliers and factory locations Working experience with multi-cultural professionals and teams 8+ years of relevant professional experience within a global company, including 5+ years in Engineering Proficient command of English language in writing and speaking Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering
