Core Application Packaging Engineer

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Application Packaging and Deployment:

• Create, test, and maintain software application packages using industry-standard tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, AdminStudio).
• Automate and streamline the software deployment process to ensure efficiency and scalability.

• System Administration:

• Manage and maintain application packaging infrastructure.
• Resolve application packaging issues, compatibility challenges, and deployment errors.

• Collaboration:

• Work closely with IT, QA, and business teams to gather packaging requirements and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
• Support end-user teams during application deployment and provide technical assistance as needed.

• Security and Compliance:

• Ensure all packages comply with organizational security standards and policies.
• Perform regular audits and patch management to keep applications updated and secure.

• Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed documentation of application packaging processes and configurations.
• Provide regular reports on deployment metrics and project statuses.

Required Qualifications

• Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

• Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in application packaging and deployment.
• Hands-on expertise with tools like AdminStudio, SCCM, Intune, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, registry, file systems, and scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, or Python).

• Skills:

• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Familiarity with MSI/MST creation, App-V, and other virtualization technologies.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hybrid environments and cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Certifications like ITIL, MCSE, or equivalent are a plus.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools.
