Job Description

Finance Collection Officer

Role & responsibilities

Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts and overdue payments
Contact clients via phone, email, and written correspondence to follow up on payments
Negotiate payment plans and terms with clients when necessary
Maintain accurate records of collection activities and client interactions
Collaborate with the sales, billing, and customer service teams to resolve disputes
Prepare and present regular reports on collection status, aging summaries, and risk accounts
Escalate accounts for legal action or external collection agencies as needed
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal credit policies

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, or credit control
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple accounts
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of relevant debt collection laws and practices
