Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Set up CNC machines (Turning / VMC / HMC) as per job drawings and process instructions.
Load tools, set tool offsets, and input part programs correctly.
Review engineering drawings and check workpieces, fixtures, and tools for readiness.
Conduct machine zero setting and part referencing as required.
Operate machines to manufacture components as per dimensions and tolerances.
Conduct in-process inspection using measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, etc.).
Monitor tool wear and make minor offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Replace worn tools and inform supervisors for tool life updates.
Perform visual and dimensional inspection of machined parts before submitting to QC.
Identify and report machining defects, burrs, and tool marks.
Maintain backup of programs and update records for tool offsets and settings.
Ensure machine cleanliness and perform daily basic maintenance checks (coolant level, lubrication, etc.).
Report cycle times, breakdowns, and productivity to the supervisor.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Production or related trade
25 years of hands-on experience in CNC machine operation and setting (Turning / VMC / HMC)
Experience in steel casting machining is highly preferred
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings with GD&T
Skilled in using precision measuring instruments
Basic CNC programming/editing knowledge
Attention to detail and quality focus
Self-disciplined and safety-conscious
Willingness to work in shifts and take responsibility for machine output
Team player with a positive attitude
