Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese and Indo-Chinese dishes (starters, rice, noodles, gravies, dim sum, etc.)
Ensure proper marination, cutting, seasoning, and cooking techniques for Chinese ingredients
Manage kitchen mise-en-place, prep, and timely execution of orders
Maintain food quality, taste, and portion control during peak service hours
Coordinate with the kitchen team for order flow and food presentation
Maintain a clean and hygienic workstation following FSSAI/health safety standards
Monitor inventory, place requisitions, and avoid wastage of perishable items
Develop and test new menu items or seasonal specials in consultation with the Head Chef
Train junior kitchen staff (commis, helpers) on basic Chinese cooking techniques

Requirements:

3–5 years of experience as a Chinese Chef or CDP in a professional kitchen
Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking methods: wok frying, steaming, sautéing, etc.
Ability to work under pressure during busy service hours
Familiarity with hygiene and safety standards in kitchen operations
Team player with leadership qualities
Culinary diploma or vocational training in Asian or Chinese cuisine (preferred)
