Role & responsibilities

• Laboratory Operations Management: Ability to supervise and coordinate day-to-day lab activities, ensuring smooth functioning and compliance with protocols.
• Chemical Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing water, steam, fuel, and oil samples using standard methods (e.g., BIS, ASTM, APHA).
• Instrument Handling & Calibration:
• Skilled in using and maintaining lab instruments such as spectrophotometers, Bomb Calorimeters, pH meters, conductivity meters, turbidity meters, etc.
• Knowledge of calibration procedures and documentation.
• Water Treatment Knowledge: Understanding of DM plant, RO system, cooling tower, boiler chemistry, and dosing systems.
• Quality Assurance: Knowledge of NABL documentation, ISO standards, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and internal/external audits.
• Inventory & Chemical Management: Experience in managing chemical stock, MSDS handling, and procurement planning.
• Safety Compliance: Awareness of laboratory safety protocols, chemical handling, and emergency response procedures.

Technical Expertise

• Operation and maintenance of PT Plant, RO Plant, DM Plant and ETP/STP systems.
• Boiler water and cooling water chemistry monitoring and control.
• Analysis of water, steam, coal, fuel oil, and lubricants using instruments like spectrophotometers, conductivity meters, pH meters, Turbidity meter, Bomb calorimeters, Karl Fischer Titrator, NAS analyser, TAN analyser, etc.
• Knowledge of chemical dosing systems and chemical handling procedures.
• Must have knowledge of lab instruments calibration

Preferred candidate profile

B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry OR Diploma/B.E. in Chemical Engineering.
