Job TitleMaterials & Structural Integrity (FEA) - Steam Turbine R&D L ocation Gurugram What will be my responsibilities Carry out static/transient, Linear/Non-linear thermo- mechanical FEA (Finite element analysis) & CFD of Steam Turbine static & Rotating components (e.g. casing, valves, rotor, bearing pedestals, blades, etc.) using commercial software such as ABAQUS, ANSYS-CFX. Perform Low cycle fatigue, High Cycle fatigue, assessment of different components of steam turbine. Perform high temperature Creep calculation and assessment. Able to logically interpret the calculation results and provide design change solution and perform design optimization accordingly. Seamless transfer of structural integrity calculation input and output between design team and project lead respectively. Development of innovative solutions. Controlling risk of design changes with appropriate methods like FMEA. Prepare and document FE calculation in the form of structural integrity design report. Participate and conduct structural integrity design review at component level / project level. As per the business needs, flexibly switch to other calculation topics like Rotor dynamics, Thermodynamics, etc. Therefore, additional experience in such calculations would be a great advantage. What do I need to qualify for this job BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech (Mechanical - any Govt. Engineering college) with CGPA 8.0 Minimum 3-8 years of Engineering experience in Materials, Structural Integrity / CFD / Rotordynamics. Strong theoretical fundamentals in material & strength of materials- this will be the key assessment point. Strong understanding of Rotordynamics & Thermodynamics fundamentals will be beneficial. Relevant work experience in Turbomachinery Blading will be of an added advantage. Strong fundamentals in Mechanics, Thermal, Fluid Engineering and Engineering design Knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM) & Computational Fluid Dynamics software (preferably ABAQUS and ANSYS-CFX) is desirable. Your new role – challenging and future- oriented The responsibility includes investigation to increase Gas turbine fuel flexibility capability to further expand the usage of green fuels. The most challenging green fuel for dry low emission combustion is hydrogen and hydrogen enriched fuels due to its high reactivity moving the flame upstream causing risk of excessive heat load on the burner. The burners and the flames are a central part of a gas turbine, and they are utterly important to minimize the combustion dynamics and emission levels, as well as maximizing the fuel flexibility and optimizing lifetime of the structure. Therefore, it is important to improve our combustion prediction of hydrogen enriched fuels and perform model calibration to measurement data as part of this role. In the development process we use network models (one dimensional inhouse code), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), acoustic simulations, water tests, atmospheric and high-pressure combustion tests, and gas turbine engine tests. The goal of this role is to enhance our knowledge for studying the performance of numerical simulations of hydrogen enriched and other green liquid fuels for combustion and evaluate the results either to already performed combustion tests or development projects. In the near future once you grasped the concept you will also be involved to supporting the existing fleet where you will learn more about the engine behaviors in conjunction with the theory you have already developed. Role & responsibilities We are seeking an experienced and analytical CFD Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in multiphase flow simulations, pressure drop analysis, and flow and thermal distribution studies. The ideal candidate will play a key role in optimizing fluid systems and thermal performance across engineering applications using advanced simulation tools. Key Responsibilities: Perform CFD simulations involving multiphase flows (e.g., gas-liquid, liquid-solid) using tools such as ANSYS Fluent, CFX, or OpenFOAM. Analyze pressure drop, velocity profiles, and thermal distribution in complex geometries and flow systems. Develop and validate simulation models based on experimental or benchmark data. Optimize designs for improved thermal performance, flow uniformity, and system performance Generate detailed technical reports and present findings to cross-functional teams. Collaborate with design, mechanical, and thermal engineering teams to integrate CFD insights into product development. Maintain and improve simulation workflows, automation scripts, and best practices Preferred candidate profile Required Qualifications: Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
