Ltd., is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of its Varuna Small Hydro Power (SHP) Project located at KRS Dam, Karnataka. The position requires hands-on leadership in hydro power generation, asset maintenance, compliance, insurance handling, and project-related coordination. Role & responsibilities Operations & Maintenance: Ensure uninterrupted operation of the hydro power station. Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of turbines, generators, switchgear, and auxiliary equipment. Monitor performance via SCADA/control systems and troubleshoot abnormalities. Team Management & Safety: Lead a team of site engineers, technicians, and support staff. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and enforce site safety protocols. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all operations comply with CEA, KERC, KSPCB, and other regulatory norms. Submit regular generation, downtime, and statutory compliance reports. Project Coordination & Documentation: Handle remaining project-related activities such as EPC clearances, handovers, defect rectifications, and project file closure. Maintain accurate records of all testing, commissioning, and civil/mechanical/electrical work. Insurance Management: Manage plant and equipment insurance policies including renewals and claims. Coordinate with insurance providers for inspections, documentation, and settlements. Inventory & Admin: Monitor spare parts, tools, and consumables inventory. Oversee site budgets and coordinate with head office teams for procurement and HR support. Emergency Handling: Take charge during equipment failures, grid disconnections, or natural events like flooding. Develop and implement plant emergency preparedness plans. Preferred candidate profile In-depth knowledge of hydro power generation systems. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Familiarity with SCADA/control systems, turbine/generator operation, and switchyard. Experience in working with regulatory authorities. Proficiency in Kannada is a plus for local coordination.
