C# Back End Developer (Payments/POS/Retail)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend C# Developer with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of backend development principles and a proven track record of building and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and reliable services using the .NET ecosystem. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying mission-critical backend components that form the backbone of our applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code and .NET components.
• Architect and build robust, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs and web services using ASP.NET Core.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to define, design, and ship new features.
• Implement and maintain data storage solutions, including relational (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Utilize Entity Framework Core for data access and manipulation.
• Develop and manage microservices-based architectures, ensuring seamless communication and data consistency between services.
• Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and application stability.
• Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and bugs.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality, performance, and security.
• Stay current with emerging backend technologies and best practices within the .NET ecosystem and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional experience in backend software development using C# and the .NET framework.
• Strong proficiency in .NET Core and ASP.NET Core for building web APIs.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Proven experience in designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks, primarily Entity Framework Core.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, especially Git.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with message queuing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ).
• Knowledge of caching technologies.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Serilog).
• A proactive and collaborative mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
