Business & Finance Content Specialist (YouTube-first)

As a Writer for Zero1 by Zerodha, a Youtube channel & India's largest financial community developed by Zerodha, you will have the exciting opportunity to create engaging short and long form content. Your primary focus will be on making finance and business appealing to a younger audience. In this role, you will conduct in-depth research within the realms of business & economy, startup economy, and geo-politics that impact the financial landscape of India. It is essential that you immerse yourself in the content produced on the following Youtube channels: Zero1 by Zerodha, Zero1Hindi, and Zero1hustle. We are seeking a writer who is passionate about research and can craft content that is data-driven and easily comprehensible. This position is not suited for SEO writers or copywriters; rather, we are looking for individuals who delve into whitepapers, monitor global markets, and have the ability to translate complex concepts into clear insights for a wide audience. Your responsibilities will include generating original content related to business & economy, proposing 2-3 new topics every week for both long-form and short-form content. You will be required to carry out thorough research by interviewing various stakeholders, analyzing research papers, and referencing official reports from credible sources. Additionally, you should have a grasp on the effectiveness of short-form content and be able to adapt strategies for future content creation. Furthermore, you will be tasked with transforming written narratives into visual concepts for the video production team. Staying abreast of current news developments, exploring diverse papers, opinion pieces, and social media trends is crucial to your role. A solid understanding of capital markets will prove to be advantageous in this position. The ideal candidate for this role is a proficient writer with excellent communication skills, possessing a keen eye for minute details that often go unnoticed. You should be adept at collaborating with internal teams efficiently and delivering tasks before deadlines. Creativity, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are attributes that will set you apart. Previous experience working with a Youtube creator and building a channel from scratch will be considered a plus. Candidates with a background in SEO, copywriting, or content repackaging need not apply. A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in finance, economy, or geopolitics is required.
