Job Title: Associate General Manager (AGM) / Deputy General Manager (DGM) Safety & Engineering Experience: 15+ Years (Must include experience with reputed organizations in industrial safety and engineering roles) CTC Range: 14 – 20 LPA Job Location: Urla, Raipur, Chhattisgarh Educational Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution Completed Post Diploma in Industrial Safety (POIS) from RLI (Regional Labour Institute) or CLI (Central Labour Institute) – mandatory Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage plant-wide safety operations, ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) practices and management systems (ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001). Conduct internal and external safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks to identify potential hazards and enforce control measures. Liaise with government bodies (DISH, CPCB, PESO, Factory Inspectorate, etc.) for inspections, renewals, and legal clearances. Oversee incident reporting, root cause analysis, and execution of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Develop and deliver safety training programs and safety drills for employees, supervisors, and contract workforce. Integrate safety into engineering and maintenance operations to ensure zero-harm objectives. Promote a proactive safety culture across all departments, with a strong focus on behavior-based safety (BBS) programs. Manage statutory documentation, reports, and ensure availability during audits and inspections. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, and other applicable safety laws and codes. Leadership experience in managing large teams and developing a safety-first culture in manufacturing or process industries. Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills. Sound knowledge of safety-related tools, reporting systems, and compliance management platforms. Experience handling safety during shutdowns, expansions, or new project commissioning is a plus. Preferred Industry Background: Heavy Manufacturing (Steel, Cement, Power, etc.) Oil & Gas / Petrochemicals Engineering / Infrastructure / EPC Mining / Metal Processing Plants Other Requirements: Must have worked in reputed organizations with a structured EHS system and safety culture. Willingness to be based in Raipur (Urla industrial area) and travel occasionally across company sites if required. Role & responsibilities Preferred candidate profile
