About the Role We are looking for an accomplished Head of Facility design and operations for leading our Sort Center operations, and to lead the development and implementation of advanced automation solutions across our sortation centers. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in building large scale automated solutions for sorting operations, engineering design, automation technologies, running sort center operations, and project management within logistics or related industries. What you will do Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the automation design strategy for large scale sorting automation for Meesho, aligning with the company's expansion roadmap Automation Design: Lead the design and deployment of innovative large scale sorting automation solutions to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of sortation processes Performance Management: Lead the sort center operations, establish performance metrics and KPIs to govern performance reliability and cost effectiveness Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of automation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technology, and product teams to integrate automation solutions seamlessly into existing systems and workflows. Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability.? Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and partners to source and implement best-in-class automation technologies.? Compliance and Safety: Ensure all automation designs and implementations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.? What you will need Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related field. 8-15 years of progressive experience in sort center design & operations, with a significant focus on large scale automation within sortation centers, warehouses, or manufacturing facilities. Proficiency in automation technologies, robotics, control systems, and material handling equipment. Proven ability to lead and develop design and operations teams, manage complex projects, and drive organizational change. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing innovative solutions to complex challenges. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience with project management methodologies and tools, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Your role will include, but is not limited to: Review and develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in conjunction with Process and Mechanical Engineers. Select, apply, and specify instrumentation required to support processes. Develop Instrument Data Sheets and lists, Panel layouts and details. Interact and coordinate with project management, vendors, clients, design members and fellow engineers to solve process engineering and piping issues. Produce and review 2D and 3D design drawings for facilities in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications, and procedures. Participate in multi-discipline coordination & clash checking efforts. Perform site surveys of existing services to ascertain as-built conditions. Support, by active participation, corporate and discipline-specific procedures, and policies. Contribute to the development of the Discipline knowledge base and standards. Perform self QA/QC on deliverables, as well as on deliverables by other engineers. Performs the tasks within the agreed-upon budget and schedule. Should be a team player and shall perform tasks individually when required. Follow company standards and procedures including design and QA checking. Provide I&C design to support process control and plant automation. Qualifications and Skillset: Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or related field. 1+ years of I&C and Automation design experience in Process industries. Good knowledge of norms and standards related to Instrumentation engineering. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project). Technical and quality focus. Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position. Role & responsibilities - Lead project to ensure design meet project specifications. - Design machine based on project specifications. - Generate layout drawings, design approval drawings, mechanical assembly drawings, detailed dimensional drawings, pneumatic circuit and BOM lists. - Mechanical design modularization and standardization. - Conduct factory acceptance test. - Conduct internal and end-user operation and maintenance training. - Update design progress to department head. - Create internal written knowledge transfer material. - Create operation and maintenance manual for machines designed. - Ensure given tasks complete within given timeline. - Provide technical support and solutions to sales inquiry. - Generate proposal, costing and tender documents for sales inquiry. - Liaise with suppliers on components selection and quotation. - Liaise with customers on mechanical design. - Troubleshoot mechanical design issues. - Perform system maintenance and support for system in production. - Train, supervise and assist Mechanical Designer. Preferred candidate profile - Minimum Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent. - Minimum 3 years of robotics automation design experience. - Proficient in using Solidworks 3D & AutoCAD 2D software. - Proven ability to complete tasks given independently. - Demonstrate strong problem-solving skill. - Proven records in leading projects in mechanical design.
