Job Description

Design Engineer / Press Tool Designer / Product Designer

Location : Egattur, Chennai

Experience Required:

2 to 12 Years (Flexible depending on the role level)

Qualification:

Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Product Design or equivalent

Industry Type:

Manufacturing / Automotive / Sheet Metal / Tooling

Key Responsibilities:

Design Engineer / Product Designer (Junior & Senior Level)

Conceptualize and design new products or components using CAD software
Create 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar
Coordinate with R&D and production teams for DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
Support prototyping, validation, and documentation of product designs
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for design feasibility and material selectio

Press Tool Designer

Design of progressive, compound, and blanking tools for sheet metal components
Prepare tool layouts, assembly drawings, and detailed part drawings
Ensure tool design supports high life, easy maintenance, and quality output
Coordinate with tool room and production during development and trial phases
Revise tool designs based on performance feedback or engineering changes

Skills Required:

Proficiency in CAD Software: SolidWorks / AutoCAD / UG-NX / CATIA
Strong knowledge of GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up, and Material Selection
Familiar with manufacturing processes: Press Tools / Stamping / Fabrication
Basic knowledge of Simulation/FEA (preferred)
Hands-on experience in tool/die development (for Press Tool Designers)
