As an MEP Estimating Engineer at vConstruct, a Pune based international construction technology company, your primary responsibility will be to review design information including drawings, specifications, and BIM to quantify scopes related to HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Process Equipment, and Piping & Instrumentation for cost estimation, bid management, and production tracking purposes. You should have a strong understanding and experience in building construction around MEP, particularly in projects such as hospitals, commercial office buildings, hospitality, data centers, biopharmaceutical plants, life sciences, manufacturing, and higher education buildings. The role will be within our Costing cluster as a Project Engineer. Your key responsibilities will include developing high-quality and accurate quantity estimates following CSI Uniformat and Masterformat coding using drawings, specifications, and models. You will also be required to develop quantity takeoffs for various trade packages, study project documents for discrepancies, leverage 3D models for quantification processes, develop 3D models from 2D drawings, prepare cost estimates, identify design changes, collaborate with estimators onsite, communicate effectively with project teams overseas, understand new scopes of work, and maintain relationships with onsite teams, customers, and the vConstruct team. To be successful in this role, you should ideally hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with a specialization in Quantity Surveying. Familiarity with US, Europe, and Indian construction documents and terminologies is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of working experience in building construction with a focus on MEP scopes is required, along with quantification experience. Knowledge of quantification software like Revit, Assemble, CostX, OST, Planswift, and estimating tools like Microsoft Excel is desired. Additionally, you should possess a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, the ability to learn independently, effective communication skills, and the ability to identify and resolve issues. As a Heavy Fabrication Fitter, your primary responsibilities will include: Having knowledge about basic EHS guidelines, environmental aspects, and risks related to inspection activities on machines and during assembly. Interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fitting requirements. Assembling and fitting metal parts by aligning, grinding, and adjusting components to ensure a proper fit. Marking, measuring, and cutting materials accurately before assembly. Utilizing hand tools, power tools, gas cutting, grinders, drills, and fitting equipment. Assisting in welding preparation and ensuring correct positioning of parts before welding. Inspecting assembled components for defects or misalignment and making necessary adjustments. Collaborating with fabrication and welding teams to meet project deadlines. Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order. Operating grinding machines to prepare chamfering of parts. Following lean approaches like 5s, TPM, Kaizen, etc., and maintaining a safe and clean workplace. Approaching daily work with continuous improvement in mind, aiming to reduce cycle time, improve machine availability and efficiency, and lower operating costs. Adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring a clean, organized work area. Qualifications: ITI fitter / Diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship is preferred. Proven experience as a Heavy Fabrication Fitter. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Skills in measuring, marking, grinding, gas cutting, and fitting metal parts. Competency with hand and power tools. Good mechanical aptitude and physical stamina. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Knowledge of safety procedures in a fabrication or workshop environment. Preferred Skills: 5 to 8 years of experience in Heavy fabrication or Pressure Vessel Fabrication.
