Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The AS400 Sysadmin will be a key member of the Information Technology team. The role will be responsible for managing all iSeries and AS400 environments and is responsible for all aspects of the JD Edwards environments. Working with the systems development staff, will assist with troubleshooting issues. The role will support multiple ERP environments across several divisions of the company.

Essential Duties

1. IBM AS/400 Systems day to day system support - user security / role management

2. Manage print queue and printer management

3. Maintain LPARs (logically partitioned) AS/400s and HMCs (Hardware Management Console)

4. Implement the internal and external auditing requirements

5. Development, Test, and UAT environments refresh

6. Work directly with development staff to troubleshoot application issues and project management of upgrade

7. Participate in system upgrades by assisting in planning and testing system upgrades

8. Designing and implementing redundant systems, policies, and procedures for backups, DR and data archiving

9. Developing and administering strategies for control and sharing of company database resources & services. This will also include performing database transaction & security audits as well as change control

Preferred candidate profile

1. Minimum of bachelors degree. Prefer computer science.

2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience in a similar role.

3. Minimum one full upgrade lifecycle experience. iSeries AS400 to Power 8 to Power 10 or Oracle JDE 7.x,8.9.x

4. Minimum 2 years of experience managing iSeries IBM AS/400 systems support and DB2 database administration.

5. Must be willing to work flexible schedules outside of regular business hours as needed and willing to travel.

6. Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.

7. Must be willing to work on projects outside of job scope.

8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint/Project management tools).
