Educational Qualification :15 years full time educationEngineering Development ManagerWe're looking for an experienced Engineering Development Manager to lead the overall delivery of modernization assignments, from design and build to configuring applications that meet critical business process and application requirements. A typical day will involve collaborating with your team to understand their needs, developing innovative solutions, and ensuring applications are perfectly aligned with business objectives. You'll be actively engaged in problem-solving, participating in project progress meetings, and contributing significantly to the success of our application development initiatives.What You'll Do:As an Engineering Development Manager, you will:Lead Modernization Initiatives:Act as a Subject Matter Expert with deep knowledge and experience in re-architecting legacy systems using Java, applying modern software design principles and AWS-based architecture patterns. You'll drive end-to-end modernization efforts, including re-architecture, refactoring of legacy systems, and cloud migration strategies.Promote Best Practices:Champion infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD automation, and observability practices to ensure system reliability, performance, and operational readiness.Manage Agile Sprints:Play the role of Scrum Master, expertly managing Sprint Ceremonies including Standups, Retrospectives, Sprint Planning, and Backlog Grooming. You'll leverage your strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks to keep projects on track.Ensure Application Observability:Integrate robust monitoring and feedback mechanisms to gain deep insights into application behavior and performance early in the software development lifecycle. This involves collecting and analyzing telemetry data like logs, metrics, and traces to identify potential issues, optimize performance, and significantly improve overall application quality before it reaches production. This practice leads to early issue detection, improved code quality, and a reduced Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).Strategic Alignment:See the big picture, assess risks, and align engineering efforts directly with business outcomes. You'll confidently make trade-offs between speed, quality, and scope.Stakeholder Communication:Work closely with product managers, designers, and business leaders to ensure engineering efforts are fully aligned with strategic goals.What You'll Bring:A minimum of 12 years of experience in software development.3+ years of experience delivering large-scale transformations and modernization solutions on cloud platforms.3+ years of team management experience, leading teams of 10-15 people.Strong technical background in Java and modern software architecture.Demonstrated experience with AWS and cloud-native development.Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.Expertise in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tools.
