Accountant

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all accounting transactions, preparing budget forecasts, and publishing financial statements in a timely manner. You will handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, compute taxes, and prepare tax returns. In addition, you will report on the company's financial health and liquidity, audit financial transactions and documents, and ensure financial data confidentiality by conducting database backups when necessary. It is essential to comply with financial policies and regulations, including maintaining balance sheets and profit/loss statements. To excel in this role, you should have work experience as an Accountant and possess excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Hands-on experience with accounting software such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks, as well as advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables, will be beneficial. Experience with general ledger functions, strong attention to detail, and good analytical skills are also required. A BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant degree is necessary, and additional certification such as CPA or CMA would be a plus. Other responsibilities may include GST compliance and filing, along with maintaining accurate financial records.
