Role & responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Management

• Plan, direct, and monitor day-to-day warehouse activities (receiving, storage, dispatch, returns).
• Maintain proper documentation and tracking of all inventory movements.
• Implement systems and Process to improve warehouse layout, material flow, and operational efficiency.
• Create SOPs on Warehouse management and workflow document
• Create Analytics on productivity and efficiency ratios and metrics around Warehouse Management.
• Create strategies alongwith Management on Warehouse growth and implementation of new Warehouses
• Create an Operations Plan/Manual on growth
• Create MIS and analytics on Warehouse operations management

Inventory Management

• Monitor inventory levels and ensure regular stock audits.
• Reduce wastage and shrinkage through accurate demand planning and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO).
• Collaborate with procurement and planning teams to maintain adequate stock levels.

Team Leadership

• Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of warehouse staff and supervisors.
• Create and manage shift schedules to ensure round-the-clock coverage and productivity.
• Promote a positive and accountable work environment.

Logistics and Distribution

• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of produce.
• Liaise with transport vendors and 3PL partners for vehicle availability and performance.
• Ensure temperature-controlled handling for perishable goods.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Enforce adherence to safety protocols, cleanliness, and hygiene in warehouse areas.
• Conduct regular audits and trainings on food safety and worker safety standards.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in terms of warehousing laws, FSSAI, and labor norms.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports on inventory, productivity, wastage, and order fulfillment.
• Analyze KPIs to identify operational inefficiencies and drive continuous improvements.
• Participate in budgeting, cost control, and vendor performance review.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, preferably in the agriculture or food sector.
• Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and MS Excel.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and drive productivity.
• Fluent communication skills in English and Tamil.
• High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
