Job Description: Store Assistant for Railway Project Site Work Position : Store Assistant Location : Railway Project Site Job Type : Full-time Job Overview: The Store Assistant will support the store and inventory operations at the railway project site. This includes managing materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are properly stored, tracked, and distributed as per the project requirements. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management : Receive, inspect, and store materials, equipment, and tools at the site. Ensure proper documentation for stock movements, including receipts, issues, and returns. Maintain accurate records of all items stored, and ensure they are well-organized and easily accessible. Stock Control : Monitor stock levels regularly and report low or expired materials to the supervisor. Assist in maintaining the inventory database and perform periodic stock checks. Ensure proper labeling and tagging of all items. Material Distribution : Issue materials and tools to the relevant departments or personnel as per project requirements. Coordinate with the procurement and project teams to meet material demands in a timely manner. Ensure that materials are distributed safely and efficiently. Health and Safety Compliance : Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment. Ensure that materials and equipment are stored in compliance with safety standards and regulations. Report any safety hazards or risks immediately to the supervisor. Documentation and Reporting : Maintain daily logs of inventory activities and materials movement. Prepare and submit regular reports on stock levels, material usage, and requisitions to the supervisor. Assist in preparing documentation for material returns, repairs, or replacements. Coordination and Communication : Communicate effectively with site supervisors, procurement teams, and other relevant departments. Assist in coordinating with vendors for the timely supply of materials. Ensure that the store area is well-maintained and organized. Required Skills and Qualifications : High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree is a plus). Prior experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or similar roles (preferably in construction or railway projects). Familiarity with stock management software and basic computer skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
