Technical Principal

Job Responsibility

• Lead and oversee the detailed engineering activities for large-scale dam and hydropower projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards and client requirements.

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (civil, structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, and MEP) for design deliverables across project phases.

• Provide expert input into the design of dams, spillways, intake structures, tunnels, penstocks, and powerhouse structures.

• Conduct and review detailed design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and construction documentation.

• Ensure compliance with international codes (e.g., FERC, ICOLD, USBR, IS codes, Eurocodes) and best engineering practices.

• Support the preparation and review of design basis reports, design criteria, technical notes, and BOQs.

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors for technical discussions and resolution of engineering issues.

• Review and approve deliverables from internal and external engineering teams.

• Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet engineering milestones.

• Provide technical leadership during peer reviews, HAZOPs, design audits, and value engineering exercises.

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical capability building within the organization.

• Coordinate with geotechnical and hydraulic experts for model studies and foundation treatment assessments.

• Support bidding and proposal efforts through input on design approach, man-hour estimates, and risk identification.
