Designation SCM Executive (Preferrable Metal Forging Industry) Technical Skill Set: - 1. Bachelors in Mechanical/Production Engineering or Supply Chain Management 2. 3–5 years of experience in a Metal Forging Industry 3. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industrial automation is a plus 4. Strong understanding of supply chain operations 5. Knowledge of metallurgical materials and forging processes. 6. Good coordination with vendors and internal teams 7. Knowledge of procurement, logistics, and inventory control 8. ERP/MRP systems (SAP/Oracle/Any other ERP.). 9. Understanding of technical drawings and specifications. 10. Good at Vendor development and negotiation skills. 11. Good in Inventory and logistics planning. 12. Well-versed with Office Tools: MS Office, Microsoft 365, G-Suite, Remote Desktop, Anti-virus management tools, Meeting tools like Teams Meet, Zoom Meet and Google Meet Inter-Personal Skillset: - 1. Should have a Positive mindset 2. Must be an excellent Team player possessing good co-ordination and time management skills 3. Candidate should possess good communication skills, presentation skills, learning attitude, good grasping Power, a strong analytical mind and possess problem-solving skills 5. Should be good in coordination with all stakeholders. Job responsibilities of the role: - 1. Procurement & Vendor Management Source and procure raw materials like steel billets, alloy bars, and forging-grade materials. Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers for price stability and quality. Negotiate contracts, lead times, and payment terms with vendors. 2. Inventory Management Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking. Monitor raw material and WIP inventory through ERP systems. Conduct regular physical stock audits and reconcile discrepancies. 3. Production Planning Support Collaborate with production and planning teams to align material availability with forging schedules. Ensure timely supply of dies, tools, lubricants, and consumables to the shop floor. Track material usage and scrap generation for planning and cost control. 4. Logistics & Transportation Coordination Plan and oversee inbound and outbound logistics (raw materials and finished goods). Coordinate with transporters and third-party logistics providers. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements like e-way bills, GST, and export documentation if applicable. 5. Quality Compliance & Documentation Ensure raw materials and purchased components meet technical and metallurgical standards. Maintain records of MTCs (Material Test Certificates), inspection reports, and supplier quality ratings. Coordinate with the Quality department on supplier evaluations. 6. Cost Control & Optimization Monitor procurement costs and seek cost reduction opportunities. Optimize inventory turnover and reduce non-moving stock. Analyze supply chain KPIs such as delivery performance, cost per ton, and lead times. 7. ERP & Data Management Use ERP systems (like SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP) for purchase, inventory, and dispatch tracking. Generate supply chain reports, dashboards, and variance analyses. Maintain accurate records for internal audits and customer traceability. 8. Cross-Functional Coordination Liaise with Design, Production, Quality, and Finance teams to support project timelines.
