Job Description

Job Summary:

The Stores In-Charge is responsible for overseeing and managing all inventory and supply-related activities in the hospital. This includes receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining accurate records of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, consumables, and general items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management
  • Maintain up-to-date stock records and inventory levels.
  • Monitor reorder levels and ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and reconciliations.
  • Procurement Coordination
  • Coordinate with the purchase department for timely replenishment of stock.
  • Verify and inspect materials received for quality and quantity.
  • Return or report damaged/expired goods.
  • Issue & Dispatch
  • Issue materials to departments as per requisition and maintain issue records.
  • Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) practices.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain documentation for all receipts, issues, returns, and disposals.
  • Comply with NABH/NABL or other regulatory standards regarding stores.
  • Vendor Liaison
  • Communicate with vendors/suppliers for material delivery follow-ups.
  • Ensure goods are received against purchase orders and bills are verified.
  • Team Supervision
  • Supervise store assistants and support staff.
  • Train and monitor team on inventory software and safety procedures.

Key Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of hospital materials, medicines, surgical items, and medical equipment.
  • Inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Tally, Mediware, etc.)
  • Strong recordkeeping and documentation skills.
  • Good communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate in any discipline (preferred: B.Com / BBA).
  • Diploma or certification in Materials Management is a plus.
  • 3–5 years of experience in hospital stores or healthcare inventory management.

Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 7-8 months

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
