Sr. QA Analyst

As a Sr. QA Analyst at Programmers.IO, you will be responsible for testing web applications, microservices, APIs, and backend systems to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. With 10 to 15 years of experience in quality assurance testing, including 3+ years in database testing and API testing using Postman, you will play a crucial role in conducting thorough testing and validation processes. Your primary responsibilities will include participating in all aspects of the software development life cycle and Agile ceremonies, performing various types of testing such as unit, integration, regression, and system testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test plans, and executing testing procedures to identify software defects and ensure adherence to quality standards. Additionally, you will be required to perform backend validation for data completeness and correctness, work closely with developers to reproduce and debug issues, conduct regression testing, create and maintain detailed test documentation, define performance test scenarios and workflows, and collaborate with the automation team to identify opportunities for test automation. To succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall system development life cycle methodologies, excellent communication skills, proficiency in both manual and automated testing, working knowledge of test management software integrated with Jira, and experience writing efficient SQL queries. Furthermore, familiarity with Agile/SCRUM and the software testing life cycle, test automation tools, and the ability to contribute to automated test scripts is a plus. You must also be able to exploit identified vulnerabilities, simulate real-world attacks through manual penetration testing, work independently with little supervision, multitask effectively, and adapt to changing requirements and priorities. In addition, strong analytical, problem-solving, and follow-up skills, the ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels, meet tight deadlines, foster an inclusive work environment, engage with senior-level business leadership and software development staff, and work well in a deadline-driven team environment are essential for this role.
