Software Performance Engineer

Job Description

SUMMARY: We are looking for a highly skilled Performance Software Development Engineer who will focus on designing, developing, and implementing solutions to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across storage systems, applications, and network layers. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to build robust performance analysis tools, optimize code, and enhance system scalability, reliability, and responsiveness KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Identify Performance Bottlenecks: Use instrumentation, tracing, profiling, and metrics collection to pinpoint system inefficiencies and latency issues. Optimize System Performance: Propose and develop software optimizations and infrastructure improvements to enhance throughput, reduce latency, and improve resource utilization. Automate Performance Monitoring: Build automated pipelines for continuous performance testing and real-time monitoring across the full technology stack. Develop Performance Analysis Tools: Design and implement software tools and frameworks to monitor, profile, and analyze performance at storage, application, and network levels. Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Partner with developers, system architects, and network engineers to understand system design and troubleshoot performance problems. Drive Scalability and Reliability: Contribute to capacity planning, load forecasting, and performance tuning to ensure the system meets future demands. Investigate Production Issues: Analyze and resolve performance-related issues arising in production environments to maintain optimal user experience. Document Findings: Create detailed reports and documentation on performance analysis, root cause investigations, and optimization recommendations. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture. • Knowledge of distributed systems design and performance considerations. • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and performance monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) is a plus.
