Software Engr II

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our Honeywell Connected Enterprise (HCE) team. You will be a critical part of developing our industry-leading Forge Asset Performance Management (APM) solutions. In this unique role, you will leverage your foundational knowledge of chemical engineering to build software that solves real-world industrial problems, improving the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our customers most critical assets.

You will be responsible for translating complex process engineering principles and equipment behavior into robust, scalable software models and analytics. You will work within a dynamic Agile team to design, develop, test, and deploy features for our APM platform, directly impacting global leaders in the chemical, oil & gas, and refining industries.

Design & Develop: Create and implement software modules and data analytics for the Honeywell Forge APM suite, focusing on modeling the performance of industrial assets like heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and reactors.

Domain-Specific Modeling: Apply your chemical engineering knowledge to develop and validate both first-principles (physics-based) and data-driven (machine learning) models of chemical processes and equipment degradation.

Full-Stack Contribution: Work on all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from back-end data processing and API development to collaborating on front-end visualizations that provide actionable insights to plant engineers and operators.

Data Integration: Develop solutions to ingest, process, and analyze large-scale time-series data from industrial sources like OSIsoft PI System, SCADA, and DCS.

Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other software engineers to define requirements, design innovative solutions, and deliver high-quality software.

Code Quality & Mentorship: Uphold high standards for code quality, test coverage, and performance. Participate in code reviews and provide guidance to junior engineers.

Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and debug complex issues that span across software, data, and the underlying physical process.
