Job Description Summary: "We’re looking for a UAV Flight Test Engineer to lead and execute flight trials of Soaron's industrial drone systems, including the Colorown painting modules and CleanHigh cleaning modules. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on drone flight expertise and the discipline of structured aerospace testing to validate, improve, and push our products to deployment." Key Skills and Background: Technical Competence Strong in aerodynamics , flight mechanics , control systems , and dynamics of multirotors or hybrid UAVs. Deep understanding of drone flight controllers (e.g., Pixhawk, CubePilot, DJI SDK). Familiarity with onboard sensors : IMU, GPS, barometer, lidar, cameras, etc. Able to configure/test autonomous flight plans , failsafes , and manual override systems . Test Methodology Experience in designing flight test plans , safety protocols , and data logging procedures . Capable of analyzing telemetry , flight logs , and performance data . Skilled in using tools like Mission Planner , QGroundControl , or proprietary platforms. Practical Execution Comfortable with hands-on drone assembly , calibration, ground checks. Can execute or supervise test flights , and interpret abnormal behavior . System Thinking Able to collaborate with mechanical , electrical , and software teams to debug flight issues. Understands integration of subsystems: payload, communication, power management, etc. Preferred Background: B.Tech / M.Tech in Aerospace , Avionics , Mechatronics , or Electronics . 2–5 years of UAV testing experience (especially with industrial drones or custom builds ). Ideally has worked with startups or R&D labs, showing agility and ownership. DGCA RPAS experience or knowledge of Indian drone regulations is a plus. Soft Skills: Calm under pressure during live tests. Systematic thinker , not trial-and-error driven. Strong documentation and reporting skills .
