Position: Purchase Engineer Department: Purchase Location: Talawade Reporting to: Plant Head Key Responsibilities: Identify, evaluate, and finalize vendors for raw materials, cutting tools, CNC/VMC spares, and consumables. Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of materials as per production requirements. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions with suppliers. Ensure timely follow-up and delivery tracking to avoid production delays. Maintain minimum stock levels for critical machine spares and consumables. Coordinate with the stores, production, and maintenance teams for material planning. Ensure quality and specification compliance for purchased items. Develop cost-saving strategies and alternate vendor sources. Maintain and update vendor database and procurement records. Handle urgent breakdown requirements with priority. Required Skills: Good knowledge of CNC/VMC machine parts, tooling, spares, and cutting fluids. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Ability to handle vendor relationships and supplier development. Understanding of basic quality standards and machine shop processes. Qualifications: Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 2 to 3 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in CNC/VMC machine shops.
