Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Design)

This position involves working within the MEP Design & Engineering Team at Axium Globals Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai. The team consists of skilled professionals, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers with varied experience. The senior engineer will lead a team of engineers, ensuring that mechanical designs are innovative, efficient and compliant with industry standards and will be working directly with leading MEP design consulting firms from the UK, USA, Australia and the UAE on flagship projects

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the overall design of HVAC systems & deliverables, including Concept, Scheme, Design Development, Tender Design / Documentation (including Technical Specification, BOQ, Schedules and Drawings)
• Design to current legislation and codes of practice
• Independently communicate with clients on a regular basis
• Mentor and assist Junior engineers
• Prepared to undergo training in learning new software if needed
• Open to work odd hours if required to meet deadlines
• Willingness to accept and implement constructive feedback.
• Regular communication with the client and taking on design responsibilities on project types like commercial, residential, retail, laboratories & hospitals.
• Understanding codes & standards local to project location and utilizing the latest & industry leading software.
• To take on a leadership role with the potential of growing a team reporting to them.

Qualification and Experience Required:

• BE/BTech/ME/MTech degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
• 5+ years of experience in designing of HVAC systems
• Experience in design of HVAC systems for commercial, residential, retail projects.
• Ideally should have experience of sustainability-based projects
• Good understating & knowledge of international codes like ASHRAE, SMACNA
• Good IT skills comprising Microsoft Office, HVAC cooling load software (Trane Trace, Camel, IES VE etc), AutoCAD, Bluebeam
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with client on a regular basis
• Consistently produce accurate work without errors
• Experience working on US/UK/Australia projects will be an added advantage
