Job Description

Role & responsibilities


  • To achieve the foundry production as per business targets
  • To achieve rejection and rework as per business targets
  • Communication & dialogue with core/mould vendors for core & mould making as per plan.
  • To optimise the cost of manufacturing through process improvements.
  • Improvement in process in view of quality and productivity.
  • To review, optimize and standardize process parameters
  • of new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Review and implementation of safety measures in Foundry. Follow safety norms at the workplace. Working as Safety co-ordinator for all foundries
  • Maintaining a skill matrix of subordinates, gap analysis of required and available skills and a plan for improvement.
  • Identify training needs of subordinates. Workers training and development, multi-skilling.
  • Maintaining discipline at the workplace & taking appropriate disciplinary action whenever required.
  • Motivate self and workers for implementation of TPM, KAIZEN, O-Soji, and 5S activities in the department.
  • To plan daily visits to the machine shop to understand and improve casting rework and rejection.
  • Communication & dialogue with the materials dept for procurement of raw materials required for the production.
  • Communication & dialogue with CPM for the patterns required for the production.
  • Ensure compliance of processes and systems as per Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and Energy Management System (EnMs)
  • Ensuring timely confirmation of production orders in SAP and maintaining discipline in using authorized SAP login
  • Compliance of IMS in CIF.
  • Execution of foundry CAPEX by adoption latest technology
  • Planning and execution of digitalization in the foundry

Ensure accuracy and authenticity of documentation generated and maintained in the foundry


Preferred candidate profile


Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of foundry processes and CI and Steel metallurgy
  • Knowledge of gating and methoding
  • Knowledge of different molding and core making process
  • Knowledge of melt shop and automated molding lines
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Defect analysis and defect control methods
  • Structured methodology of problem solving and CAPA
  • Process change management
  • Development of new castings.
  • Cost reduction and cost optimization
  • Alternate material and optimization
  • Metallurgical knowledge
  • TPM and Lean implementation
