Job Description

As a Senior Design Engineer on the Spectrum Design System team at Adobe Design, you will have the opportunity to build high-quality Android UI components while collaborating with multi-functional teams of engineers and designers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring design excellence and consistency across various Adobe products by developing Spectrum-based Android components. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with the Spectrum design team to integrate design aesthetics into Android components, partnering with product teams to implement Spectrum effectively, deriving data from designs and integrating them into components, and providing clear documentation to support contributors and improve library stability. Additionally, you will play a key role in addressing product engineering concerns, driving process improvements, and assisting in the discovery and delivery of component fixes. To succeed in this role, you must have a strong understanding of building performant UI components in the Android ecosystem, experience with Kotlin, Java, and Android Studio, and a passion for meticulous attention to design details. You should also be familiar with git, GitHub, UI accessibility practices, and working closely with designers. A collaborative mindset, comfort in a fast-paced environment, and experience in open development are essential for this role. Nice-to-have qualifications include familiarity with design systems concepts, hands-on experience with build, test, and release methods, and working with partners to inform product roadmap planning.
