Sap Abap Developer

Role & responsibilities

Development and Customization:

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Work independently to estimate, design, and deliver solutions. Architect and implement high-performance ABAP applications, ensuring scalability and maintainability across various SAP modules
• Designing, coding, testing, and implementing ABAP solutions for SAP modules. This includes creating custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, controls and forms to meet specific business needs.
• Creating user exits, BADIs, and BAPIs to extend the functionality of SAP modules.
• Analyze existing programs or formulate logic for new systems, perform coding, and test/debug programs. Troubleshooting issues with ABAP code and optimizing its performance.
• Participating in the design and development of SAP Fiori applications. Integrating SAP with other systems using various technologies, such as APIs and web services.
• Designing & modelling OData services using the Gateway Service Builder

Collaboration:

Work with functional ( SD,MM,PP,FICO) and other teams to understand business requirements and translate into technical specifications and solutions in accordance with client standards and architecture. Understand which requirements can be achieved through customizing, system development or enhancements

System Optimization:

• Ensuring ABAP code is optimized for performance and efficiency, and contributing to the overall performance of SAP systems.

Testing

• Conducting thorough unit, integration, and system testing to ensure the quality and reliability of developed solutions.

Documentation:

• Creating and maintaining technical documentation for ABAP programs, interfaces, and other development work.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related field with SAP APAP certification with 4 to 5 years of experience as SAP ABAP Developer. Experience in performing a role as a SAP ABAP Developer for at least three end-to-end projects (Upgrades, Implementations).
• Strong Experience in developing and customizing reports and SAP Fiori applications
• Strong understanding of ABAP syntax, coding standards, and development tools.

Ability to interact with functional experts of SD,MM,PP, FICO etc. for managing and configuring segregation of duties and data security.

• Strong understanding of SAP systems, in memory database technology hardware
• Strong analytical and problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
