QA Manual Lead

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled QA Lead with a strong background in manual testing, team leadership, and mobile testing. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing teams of 8-10 manual QA engineers and be comfortable with scripting . This role will require hands-on involvement in testing while leading the team and ensuring the quality of the product through rigorous test planning, execution, and reporting. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team of manual QA engineers , providing guidance, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative environment. Oversee and manage the manual testing activities for Web & mobile applications and other platforms. Ensure effective test planning, strategy, execution, and reporting for all types of tests, including functional, regression, integration, and acceptance testing. Work with product owners, developers, and business analysts to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Ensure that all test cases are created, executed, and tracked in JIRA and other test management tools. Collaborate with other teams (development, product, DevOps, etc.) to identify and resolve issues quickly. Lead daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives in alignment with Agile processes. Monitor and track the progress of the QA team, ensuring that sprints are completed on time and with high quality. Provide detailed defect reports and track them through resolution. Take ownership of test results and ensure effective root cause analysis of defects. Conduct performance and load testing as needed and ensure application stability. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all features of the application and manual testing, providing thought leadership to the team. Technical Skill Requirements: Proven experience with web and mobile manual testing . Proven experience in API testing Familiarity with Databases like MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB. Strong knowledge of JIRA , Postman , SQL , and other QA tools. Experience with performance and load testing . Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum practices and experience working in Agile teams . Experience with test automation is a plus. Scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Shell scripting) would be beneficial. Good understanding of mobile testing frameworks (e.g., Appium, Espresso, or similar). Team & Project Management: Proven experience in managing teams of a large size . Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts. Ability to manage multiple testing projects in parallel, ensuring deadlines and quality targets are met. Take a proactive approach to identify potential bottlenecks, resolve conflicts, and maintain high morale within the team. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels. Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify issues and risks quickly. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Highly accountable, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement. Good to Have: Certification in ISTQB or similar quality assurance qualifications. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps processes.
