Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the execution of all MEP systems during construction of high-rise buildings, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems
Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, architects, and design engineers to resolve technical issues during construction
Review and approve MEP shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs to ensure alignment with project specifications
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks on MEP installations
Manage MEP contractors' schedules and monitor progress against project timelines
Identify potential conflicts between MEP systems and structural/architectural elements before installation
Lead MEP commissioning processes and ensure proper system testing and documentation
Participate in project meetings to report on MEP progress, issues, and solutions
Review and approve payment applications from MEP subcontractors
Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability requirements
Manage MEP-related budget and cost control measures
Implement and enforce safety protocols specific to MEP operations
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
15+ years of MEP coordination experience in high-rise construction projects
Professional engineering license or relevant MEP certification preferred
Strong knowledge of building codes and standards related to MEP systems
Experience with BIM/3D modeling software for MEP coordination
Proven track record of successful MEP system integration in complex buildings
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions under pressure
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Advanced understanding of vertical transportation considerations in high-rise MEP design
SkillsTechnical expertise in MEP systems specific to high-rise construction
Strong project management capabilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical and electrical drawings
Proficiency with project management software and MEP coordination tools
Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to meet critical project milestones and may involve working at heights and in confined spaces within an active construction environment.
